Construction company manager arrested for supplying Maoists
July 14th, 2009 - 8:54 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, July 14 (IANS) The manager of a construction company was Tuesday arrested for supplying communication materials and bullet proof jackets to Maoist rebels in Jharkhand, police said.
Naresh Prasad, a project manager in Shekhar Construction Company, was arrested here on an intelligence tip off and his houses here and in New Delhi raided. Bullet proof jackets, wireless sets, walkie-talkies, compasses used in jungle and other equipment were seized from his house here.
According to police sources, the company is involved in construction work in the state’s Palamau district and Prasad was in charge.
Police have started interrogating him to find about involvement of other people in supplying materials to rebels.
Police in the state’s Bokaro town Saturday arrested three people involved in supplying arms to rebels.
