Constable killed in accidental firing in Jharkhand
November 6th, 2010 - 7:30 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Nov 6 (IANS) A constable was killed when his colleague’s gun went off accidentally in Khuti district of Jharkhand, police said Saturday.
“Jagdish Oraon, posted at Arki police station of Khuti district, died in accidental firing late Friday,” police said.
According to police, Jagdish and his colleagues, posted at Arki police station, some 60 km from Ranchi, were preparing for Diwali duty, when one of his colleague’s gun went off, hitting Jagdish in the head. He died on the spot.
“We are investigating the case, and cannot say anything conclusive now,” police said.
