Congress party spokespersons, MPs being coached about media

Sonia GandhiNew Delhi, March 1 (IANS) The media department of the Congress is holding a two-day media workshop for the state party spokespersons and MPs here to teach them how media should be utilised in favour of the party for the coming Lok Saha polls.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary (media) M. Veerappa Moily has invited all the state party spokespersons and MPs to attend the two-day workshop starting Monday, said a senior party leader.

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Urban Development Minister S. Jaipal Reddy and Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia will address participants at the workshop, party sources told IANS.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi and AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi are also expected to speak to the participants.

The party had organised state-level workshops for district spokespersons in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. This national media workshop is also in line with the workshops held at the state-level, party leaders said.
