Congress backs Sheila Dikshit
August 6th, 2011 - 7:21 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 6 (IANS) The Congress Saturday backed Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit saying there is no question of asking her to resign over the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) report on irregularities in the Commonwealth Games (CWG).
“The opposition is seeking stringent punishment. The report says that in some heads money was overspent and it could have been saved. It is not as big that it can be compared to Yeddyurappa (former Karnataka chief minister) or anyone else,” said Congress general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.
The CAG report tabled in the parliament Friday said that Dikshit was involved in irregularities in projects related to CWG.
