October 11th, 2011 - 9:19 pm ICT by IANS

Bharatiya Janata Party Ranchi, Oct 11 (IANS) The Congress Tuesday promised to support the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) if it formed its government in the state by severing its alliance with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“JMM should form government in the state by severing its alliance with BJP. Congress will support it,” Congress party’s Leader of Opposition Rajendra Prasad Singh told reporters here.

However, JMM was guarded in its reaction to the offer.

“This could be the personal opinion of Rajendra Singh,” JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya told reporters here.

The Congress is enthused by the differences which have cropped up between the BJP and the JMM over the grant to be given to madrassas in the state.
