Congress activists pray for Sonia’s recovery

Bhubaneswar, Aug 4 (IANS) Congress activists and leaders across Orissa Thursday visited temples and offered prayers for the early recovery of party president Sonia Gandhi who is abroad for a surgical operation.
The party activists including large number of women offered prayers and performed special rituals at various temples of Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Balasore, Puri, Cuttack and Berhampur.
“We prayed to god for her speedy recovery,” said Chinmaya Sahu, president of the state unit of Congress’ student wing after offering prayers in a temple here.
Congress chief spokesperson Janardhan Dwivedi said in New Delhi earlier that Gandhi would undergo surgery Friday or Saturday.
