Conductor crushed to death under own bus
January 18th, 2011 - 11:09 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 18 (IANS) A 23-year-old bus conductor was Tuesday afternoon crushed to death under the wheels of his own Blueline bus in northwest Delhi’s Peeragarhi area, police said.The victim has been identified as Kanhaiya. The incident took place at around 2.30 p.m.
According to police, Kanhaiya had gotten off the bus - route number 236 that plies between Anand Vihar and Nangloi - to give way to passengers boarding the jam-packed vehicle when it suddenly started moving.
“The victim couldn’t maintain his balance, fell on the road and was crushed below the vehicle’s rear wheels. He was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where he was declared brought dead,” a police officer said.
The driver is absconding.
