Company razes ancient temple in Noida
January 29th, 2012 - 12:58 am ICT by IANSNoida, Jan 28 (IANS) Officials of a construction company allegedly razed an ancient temple, situated along Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, after beating up the priests there late Friday, police said Saturday. Cases have been registered against a director and three other officials.
According to sources in the area, a team of some company officials reached the over 100-year-old temple, situated at Nangli Sakhpur village along Expressway, late Friday night and beat up the priests.
After confining two of the priests, including the head of the temple, the company workers then brought a JCB machine and razed down the entire temple structure.
When the villagers reached the site early morning, the company officials left the area after a clash.
On the complaint of villagers, the Noida police registered a case against company director Sameer Gaur and three senior officials - Dilbagh Singh, Mangal Singh and Ashok Khera under various sections, including rioting, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, of the Indian Penal Code at Sector-39 police station.
“We are investigating the issue after registering the case,” said Sector-39 SHO, Sama Kant Tripathi.
