‘Company owners held in substandard medicine scandal’
January 26th, 2012 - 11:46 pm ICT by IANSIslamabad, Jan 26 (IANS) The owners of three of the six companies involved in the substandard medicine scandal that has led to the death of over 100 patients have been arrested, Geo News quoted Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik as saying Thursday.
As many as 101 patients have so far lost their lives after taking the substandard medicines distributed by the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).
The Lahore high court has also sought the response of Punjab’s chief secretary, as also the federal and provincial health secretaries, on the issue.
