New Delhi, Oct 18 (IANS) Commonwealth Games 2010 will be the theme of Delhi’s pavilion during the India International Trade Fair (IITF) next month, an official said Sunday.
“The 2010 Commonwealth Games, which Delhi will host, and the services sector, for which the national capital has become well known, will dominate the Delhi pavilion’s theme this year,” said Chetan Sanghi, managing director of Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC).

IITF will be held at the Pragati Maidan here Nov 14-27.

Delhi’s pavilion is a permanent structure constructed and managed by DSIIDC on behalf of the state government.

“The interiors of the remodelled pavilion will cover an area of 1,422 square meters. One side of the pavilion will be dedicated to the Commonwealth Games, which will be the biggest sporting event to be hosted by India,” he said.

The pavilion will show 3D tableaux float of the games including previous games’ mascots in the form of live puppets.

Health, education, tourism and hospitality sectors will also figure prominently in the pavilion.

“A sculpted hand and a larger than life size computer on it will represent the services sector. To highlight Delhi’s vibrant mood, an arch like structure made up of several neon bands will be erected at the exit gate, adding colour and brightness,” said Sanghi.
