College student stabbed to death in Haryana town

- Ambala (Haryana), Nov 14 (IANS) A college student was stabbed to death in a group clash in this Haryana town Saturday, said the police.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar, a native of Jind town in Haryana, around 190 km from here. He had come here to meet his friends in a polytechnic college.
“Kumar, who was in his early twenties, was stabbed by some sharp-edged weapon in his chest and stomach. He was immediately shifted to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead,” said a police official here Saturday evening.
He added: “It was a result of a group clash that started after an argument over some issue. We have registered a case and started our investigation.”
Police have detained three students for questioning.
Following this, infuriated students blocked the busy Ambala-Hisar highway for some time and damaged public property.
Ambala is around 40 km from state capital Chandigarh.
