College drop out held for cheating job aspirants
April 20th, 2010 - 9:15 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 20 (IANS) A 22-year-old college dropout was arrested for allegedly duping hundreds of job-seekers, particularly in government departments like the Delhi Metro, police said Tuesday.
Yatender Yadav was arrested from south Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area Monday.
“Yadav, through his placement agency, invited applications for the posts of rail driver, guard and supervisor in the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). He was not authorised by the DMRC to run such a placement agency,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (south Delhi) H.G.S. Dhaliwal said.
“He invited applications from candidates outside Delhi through advertisements in newspapers and took postal and bank drafts of Rs.100 from general category candidates and Rs.50 from candidates belonging to SC/ST,” Dhaliwal added.
Yadav received around 20,000 application forms with demand drafts and postal orders worth Rs.6 lakh, police said.
