Clean chit to two IAS officers in Madhya Pradesh
February 24th, 2010 - 3:40 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, Feb 24 (IANS) Two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers in Madhya Pradesh facing charges of misusing their official positions have been given clean chits.
“Madhya Pradesh Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has given a clean chit to G.P. Singhal and T. Dharmarao Tuesday as complaints filed against them were found baseless,” an EOW official told IANS Wednesday.
A complaint of misuse of their positions, he said, was made against them in 2006.
It was alleged in the complaint that instead of undertaking the work of bottling of countrymade liquor from a semi-automatic plant, it was carried out in a private distillery.
The complaint had further alleged that Singhal, then principal secretary, commercial tax, did this to benefit his son and others.
On the basis of the complaint, the EOW had registered a case against both officials but after detailed inquiry found that allegations levelled against them were baseless.
The agency closed the case while giving them a clean chit.
