Class 11 student attacked inside Chandigarh school
February 17th, 2011 - 10:18 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Feb 17 (IANS) A Class 11 student was seriously injured when a number of youths attacked him inside his school here Thursday, police said. A teacher who intervened was also beaten up. According to police, around eight to ten young boys, armed with sharp-edged weapons, attacked Feroze Khan, 17, in the ground of the Government Model Senior Secondary School at Sector 45 here.
“Feroze sustained serious injuries on his chest, stomach and near his ears. He is admitted to a government hospital and doctors said that his condition is serious. The attackers also thrashed a teacher, named Vasudeva, who tried to save Feroze,” a police official said.
Before fleeing from the spot, the assailants entered the principal’s room and vandalised it, the officer said, adding a case has been registered and investigations were on.
