Clash over land in Madhya Pradesh town

Bhopal, June 27 (IANS) Two groups of people clashed and pelted stones at each other in Jabalpur town in Madhya Pradesh Friday after a dispute over a piece of land adjacent to a mosque, police said. Curfew has been clamped in the cantonment police station area after the dispute turned into a free for all as both the groups resorted to stone pelting. A few policemen were also injured in the incident.

“The police fired teargas and used mild force to disperse the crowd. Later curfew had to be clamped to bring the situation under control,” District Collector Hariranjan Rao said.
