Clash over football match turns ugly
August 28th, 2011 - 6:11 pm ICT by IANSDhaka, Aug 28 (IANS) At least 20 people were injured Sunday when two groups of villagers clashed over a football match in Bangladesh, police said.
The incident took place in Brahmanbaria district in eastern Bangladesh, the Daily Star reported.
Witnesses said trouble began when the two groups of villagers had an altercation over a football match held Saturday.
Later both the groups, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked each other, leaving 20 people injured. Police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control. The injured were admitted to hospital.
