Clash in capital, 15 arrested
May 17th, 2011 - 12:09 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 16 (IANS) A minor scuffle between two groups turned into a violent clash between two communities that left dozens injured in the national capital, police said Monday, adding that 15 people were arrested over the incident.
The incident took place in the JJ cluster in Bindapur area at south Delhi at around 10 p.m. Sunday.
The trouble started when two groups of youngsters clashed over a bottle of beer, according to a senior police official.
“Within minutes the fight spread with the two communities living in the area clashing with each other. Many people, including women, were injured in stone pelting. Police took them to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital,” the officer said.
Police said at least 15 people had been arrested over the incident.
