Civic body imparts dengue lessons to schools
June 24th, 2011 - 9:28 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 24 (IANS) Doctors and public health nurses in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools were Friday trained on ways to fight vector-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya, an official said.
“The season for dengue and chikungunya has just started and the MCD school staff has a huge role to play. The medical staff of doctors and nurses in schools reach out to students directly who carry the message to their parents,” said V.K. Monga, chairman of MCD’s public health committee.
The schools have given the children a dengue report card highlighting the prevention tips for the diseases which is to be signed by parents.
