China mulls amendment to law on work-related illnesses
June 27th, 2011 - 4:11 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, June 27 (IANS) China’s top legislature Monday discussed an amendment to a law regarding work-related illnesses.
The draft amendment would not allow health care organisations to refuse workers’ claims concerning work-related illnesses, said the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
The draft amendment would simplify arbitration procedures for labour disputes, an improvement that is designed to better protect workers’ rights and interests, Xinhua reported.
Lawmakers are for the first time considering an amendment to the law, which was passed in 2002.
