Chief Justice Kapadia releases restatement of law
October 12th, 2011 - 12:15 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 11 (IANS) Chief Justice of India S.H. Kapadia Tuesday released a set of Restatement of Indian Law on Legislative Privilege, Contempt of Court and Public Interest Litigation at a function held at Indian Society for International Law here.
The collection of judicial pronouncements on three subjects is aimed at mapping the development in the field of law and to comprehend its current status with clarity.
The restatement of Indian law on three subjects was initiated at the instance of the Supreme Court project committee on restatement of India law, headed by Justice R.V. Raveendran. The function was co-hosted by the Indian Law Institute.
The restatement of law on legislative privileges was authored by Justice P. Sathasivam, on contempt of court by Justice A.K. Ganguly and on public interest litigation by Justice B.S. Chauhan.
