New Delhi, Feb 4 (IANS) The special CBI court order declining to make Home Minister P. Chidambaram an accused in the 2G spectrum scam was not final, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said Saturday.
“This is the order of the very first court. There are other hierarchy of courts also and Subramanian Swamy has clearly said that he will approach the high court and Supreme Court,” BJP spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special court Saturday dismissed Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy’s plea against Chidambaram in the spectrum allocation case.
“In the entire 2G matter, the higher courts have often upset the decision of the lower court. We need to look at what the two higher courts will say,” Prasad added.
The BJP said it will continue to raise the issue both within and outside parliament.
“As far as political accountability of P. Chidambaram, the then finance minister, is concerned, in view of overwhelming evidence which is there in public domain, the BJP shall continue to insist for accountability inside and outside parliament,” Prasad added.
