Chhattisgarh records 358 rapes, 394 killings in 135 days
December 7th, 2010 - 4:29 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Dec 7 (IANS) Chhattisgarh has registered 358 rape cases and 394 killings in 135 days, Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar said Tuesday.
The state also recorded 45 dacoity and 214 loot cases between July 1 and Nov 15, Kanwar told the assembly in a written reply to a question of Congress member and former home minister Nandkumar Patel.
The minister said the police arrested 342 rape accused, 500 murder accused, 166 accused for dacoity and 282 people for their alleged involved in loot cases.
He said 115 loot accused, 358 dacoits, 286 murder accused and 101 rape accused were still out of police clutch and attempts were being made to apprehend them.
