D.R. Arya, deputy collector in Dantewada district, was suspended after a superintendent of girls’ school-cum-hostel Ashram based at Geedam lodged a police complaint alleging that the officer had come to the school on Tuesday night and tried to sexually assault her.
The government took note of the allegation and found that the officer had tried to sexually assault the woman in a drunken state and suspended him Saturday, a government spokesperson told IANS here.
The suspension order was issued by Bastar commissioner Manoj Kumar Pingua.
