Chhattisgarh labour official has over Rs.20 mn assets
January 7th, 2012 - 12:36 am ICT by IANSRaipur, Jan 6 (IANS) Raids conducted by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths at the home of a labour official in Chhattisgarh Friday revealed he had illegally amassed assets worth Rs.20 million.
The ACB sleuths raided the premises of the official, Ranvir Kapoor, at the industrial town Bhilai and state capital Raipur and found that he purchased prime land and built houses at various districts in the state.
“The ACB sleuths have seized several incriminating documents during the raid, and a first look at the papers shows that the labour official owns assets over Rs.20 millions, top ACB official D.M. Awasthi told reporters. He refused to give details saying the investigation was underway.
The ACB has also slapped a case against the official under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
