Chhattisgarh college students arrested for ragging
January 13th, 2009 - 8:57 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Jan 13 (IANS) At least 14 students of a Chhattisgarh college were arrested here Tuesday for assaulting their juniors, the police said.The students of Government Science College were suspended Saturday by the college authorities, a day after the police registered a case against them for ragging their juniors at a hostel.
Students of BSc first year lodged a complaint with the police that their seniors beat them up at the hostel.
The junior students alleged that their seniors called them to the hostel one by one last Tuesday night and slapped each of them at least 90 times.
