Charges framed against teenager in hit-and-run case
December 9th, 2010 - 9:07 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Dec 9 (IANS) A local court here Thursday framed charges of rash and negligent driving and causing death by a negligent act against a teenager who crushed a youth and a child under her Honda Accord car here in August.
Sukhmani Brar, 19, mowed down Sukhwinder Singh, 21, and his cousin Harpreet Singh, 4, Aug 17 in Sector 2 here. The car belonged to her grandfather, retired Lt.Colonel G.S. Brar.
After the accident, she fled from the spot in another vehicle. She surrendered to police after nearly 20 hours.
Brar, a student, had come here from the US to attend her cousin’s wedding in August.
Sukhwinder was an engineering student, while Harpreet was a school student. Both lived in Kansal village near here.
