Jaipur, Sep 3 (IANS) Greg Chappell, who was appointed the head coach of Cricket Australia’s (CA) Centre of Excellence Wednesday, will continue to work as advisor to Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (RCA) academy as well.Chappell and bio-mechanist Ian Frazer were signed up as advisors by the RCA for the Future Cricket Academy in Jaipur.
“Greg will continue his association as advisor to the Centre of Excellence at RCA. I am certain that with Greg and Ian Frazer at the helm of guiding the talent development program at the RCA, our budding cricketers are in right hands,” RCA president Lalit Modi said in a statement.
Modi congratulated the former India coach on his appointment as head coach of Australian Centre of Excellence.
“It is indeed a very prestigious assignment for Greg. RCA are truly very happy for him. It adds another feather to his cap as a coach of outstanding merit and distinction,“ Modi said.
Chappell said that he would try to do justice to both the jobs.
“I am proud to be involved with both CA and the RCA Centres of Excellence. Both although geographically apart reflect a common vision of identifying and nurturing fresh cricketing talent,” Chappell said.
Chappell said future training programmes will have to look at making cricketers fitter,
stronger and more resilient.
“It will be my joint endeavour with Ian to ensure that we cover all these bases at both CA and the RCA academy,” he added.
