Chaos at EC office as results flashed
May 13th, 2011 - 7:15 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, May 13 (IANS) It was total chaos Friday at the state chief election office where results of the West Bengal assembly elections were being announced to media persons.
As the results flashed across the screens showing Left seats falling to the Trinamool Congress-Congress combine one after the other, the chaos and the clamour multiplied.
Three giant screens had been put up, one showing the leads while the other two the actual results and the vote count, respectively.
The moment the giant screen flashed that Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was trailing in his constituency Jadavpore, there was frenzy as journalists rushed to relay the news.
One could hear the “oohs” and “aahs” every time the screen showed the Left Front bigwigs trailing.
All the while, the Trinamool supporters on the roads rejoiced as the picture turned clearer.
