Chandy, cabinet to brainstorm at IIM-Kozhikode

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 16 (IANS) Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and his 19 cabinet colleagues would spend Thursday at a brainstorming session at the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode.

The chief minister and his cabinet colleagues would turn students for a day when they would be in the classroom attending lectures that would be led by IIM-K director Debashis Chatterjee.

A press release issued by Chandy’s office said that the classes would centre on how best the management principles can be put to improve governance.

“The programme is called GIFT (Governance Insight For Transformation) and it would be cantered around how to make use of the state’s potential in areas like exploring more investment, infrastructure development, agriculture, environment, health,” said the release.

Other than the IIM-K faculty, the others to take classes include Confederation of Indian Industry (director-investment) Chandrajith Chatterjee, head of Narayan Hridyalaya Dr Devi Prasad Shetty and former head of central public sector FACT, Dr T.T.Thomas.
