Chandigarh woman, daughter commit suicide
July 24th, 2011 - 11:54 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, July 24 (IANS) A middle-aged woman and her teenaged daughter died here Sunday after they, along with another family member, entered into a suicide pact, police said.
Manjit Kaur, 40, and her 16-year-old daughter Anmol died after consuming a poisonous substance at their house in Mani Majra locality.
Kaur’s son Gurvinder, who also consumed the same poison, was rushed to a hospital in a serious condition where doctors were monitoring his condition.
Police have recovered a suicide note blaming Kaur’s husband Gulab Rai for their extreme step.
