Chandigarh, Jan 26 (IANS) A Chandigarh police team is likely to go to Mumbai to interrogate Shajji Mohan, former zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) here, who was arrested Sunday with contraband, officials said.”We can also get some links regarding the drug pedalling business after interrogating Shajji Mohan. We are expected to send a team of senior police officials to Mumbai for this purpose,” Inspector General of Police (IGP) S.K. Jain told mediapersons here Monday evening.

Mohan was arrested by the Mumbai Police Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) with a consignment of 12 kg of heroin in a suburb of that metro.

During his 23-month tenure here, Mohan was in the media limelight when the NCB team arrested notorious drug-peddler Raju, who hinted at a nexus of drug traffickers and the Chandigarh police.

Mohan then submitted a report to the IGP last year, naming police officials who were allegedly linked with drug traffickers. Based on the report, the IGP suspended six officers.
