- Chandigarh, Nov 28 (IANS) An assistant sub-inspector of the Chandigarh police was Friday arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenaged boy, the police here said. Yash Pal Sharma, the police officer who investigated the case, told IANS that the teenager, 17, was taking a walk after dinner Thursday night in Sector 27 of this city when assistant sub-inspector Dalwinder Singh, passing that way on his official motorcycle, stopped him and asked what was he doing there at that hour.
Singh ordered the boy to come with him but instead of taking him to the police station, took him to his house where he allegedly sexually assaulted him. Afterwards he dropped the victim back at his home early Friday morning.
