November 19th, 2011 - 2:00 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, Nov 19 (IANS) With the theme of ‘Jaadunagri - Explore the Magical World’, the annual Chandigarh Carnival is set to begin on a colourful note Nov 25.
The three-day event will begin from the carnival village in the Leisure Valley in Sector 10 with a colourful carnival parade.
“The tableaux and other display features in the Carnival Parade will be based on the theme,” a spokesman said Saturday.
Other attractions at the event, aimed at promoting tourism in Chandigarh, include a film-city project on ‘Kashmir Bollywood’ theme, cultural shows from various states with food stalls, musical nites and magic shows.
“The carnival village will be illuminated with special lighting effects,” the spokesman added.
In recent years, the carnival has emerged as a major attraction for residents of the tri-cities — Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali — as well as tourists coming to the city.
