Chandigarh businessman shot dead inside his office
November 25th, 2009 - 11:07 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Chandigarh, Nov 25 (IANS) A 45-year-old businessman was shot dead during attack on him by five people who barged into his office here late Wednesday, police said.
The victim was identified as Harjinder Singh, a resident of neighbouring Mohali town. He owned a franchise of a telecom company in Sector 20 here.
“Five people entered his office from the back door. Initially, they manhandled Singh and later fired at him and ran away. Police reached the spot and shifted him to a government hospital in Sector 32, where he succumbed to his injuries,” a police official said.
“We have registered a case against five unidentified people and have started investigations. Business rivalry could be a reason behind the crime,” he added.
