Chadha is special secretary internal security
January 2nd, 2012 - 10:15 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 2 (IANS) Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Ajay Chadha Monday assumed office as special secretary, internal security, in the union home ministry.
A 1977 batch officer, Chadha took over from U.K. Bansal, who has been appointed as the chief of the Border Security Force (BSF).
He has earlier served as a special commissioner of Delhi Police for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Chadha has also served as director general of police in Arunachal Pradesh earlier.
He will be in charge of the crucial post until his superannuation on Aug 31, 2013 or until further orders, a home ministry spokesperson said.
