Celebrities kept away from Obama celebrations

Barack ObamaLos Angeles, Nov 5 (IANS) The just-elected US President Barack Obama is not allowing too many celebrities to join in his celebrations.According to tmz.com, some of the celebrities who wanted to attend the rally included Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, rapper Diddy and actor Ben Affleck.

Obama, however, is requesting his celebrity supporters to stay away.

A source said: “There really only needs to be one star in Grant Park, and that’s Barack.” Grant Park was the Chicago venue where Obama delivered his victory speech.

The Obama camp wants the celebrities to be more prominent at the inauguration in January.
