CBI withdraws Most Wanted list from website
May 20th, 2011 - 6:39 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 20 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Friday withdrew the list of the country’s most wanted fugitives hiding in Pakistan from its website for the “purpose of review”, an official said.
“We have taken off the list of most wanted men and the Red Corner notice from the official website for the purpose of review. The list will be examined in detail,” CBI spokesperson Dharini Mishra told IANS.
Confirming that CBI Director A.P. Singh has ordered a “complete review” of the list, Mishra added: “The list will be thoroughly scrutinised in consultation with state police and other agencies.”
On Thursday, it was revealed that Feroze Abdul Rashid Khan, listed as most wanted criminal No.24 and reportedly hiding in Pakistan, was in a Mumbai jail.
Earlier, Wazhul Qamar Khan, accused number 42, also alleged to be in Pakistan, was found working and living with his family in Thane.
