CBI raids 40 contractors in theft case
March 27th, 2010 - 8:50 pm ICT by IANSPatna, March 27 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Saturday raided the houses of 40 contractors in connection with theft of National Savings Certificates (NSCs) and Kisan Vikas Patras (KVPs) worth more than Rs.100 crore, officials said.
The house of an inspector in the Railway Protection Force (RPF) was also raided. CBI sources refused to disclose more information.
The theft of NSCs and KVPs reportedly took place in the mid-90s in Patna. The state government ordered a CID probe into the theft followed by a CBI investigation in 2006.
