New Delhi, Jan 14 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Wednesday inaugurated an anti-corruption branch at Port Blair to speed up crime investigation in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.Earlier, a CBI unit at Port Blair with territorial jurisdiction over the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands was functioning under the supervision of a superintendent of police of the anti-corruption branch at Kolkata.
“The movement of investigating and supervisory officers were both time consuming and expensive.
