CBI gets six additional courts in Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 19 (IANS) The Delhi High court has approved the creation of six additional courts for the speedy trial of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cases in the national capital.”Long pendency of corruption cases will be curtailed by appointment of additional judges as the additional courts will take up the cases on day to day basis and by giving priority to the old cases,” the probe agency said in a press statement.

Until recently, there were five courts of special judges in Delhi which include one at Patiala House courts, three at the Tis Hazari courts and one at Karkardooma courts complex. The courts have been overburdened with cases.
