CBI gets 10 days to file report on Keeling murder
October 15th, 2009 - 12:37 pm ICT by IANSPanaji, Oct 15 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has 10 days to file a supplementary report before the Goa Children’s Court (GCC) in connection with British teen Scarlett Keeling’s murder, the Panaji bench of the Bombay High Court has said.
The top investigating agency had taken over the probe from the Goa Police after Scarlett’s mother Fiona Mackeown accused it of scuttling the probe.
“The court has passed an order granting extension and ordered the filing of a supplementary report within 10 days from today, with a direction to keep the trial pending till then,” CBI’s special prosecutor told the GCC in a written application Wednesday.
The CBI had been granted three months on July 14 to file the report, but it approached the high court to seek two weeks to file the supplementary report.
Scarlett Keeling, 15, was murdered at the Anjuna beach in February 2008.
