CBI arrests income tax official for taking bribe
April 6th, 2011 - 9:37 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 6 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested an income tax officer for taking a bribe of Rs.1 lakh in Warangal in Andhra Pradesh, the CBI said Wednesday.
“We laid a trap and arrested Ram Singh red handed Tuesday while accepting the bribe,” a CBI spokesperson said here.
Ram Singh had demanded the money to settle an income tax account.
The CBI searched five places and recovered expenditure receipts for the establishment of a hotel at Araku Valley in Vishakhapatnam in the name of his wife.
