Caught cheating in exam, student beats up teacher
March 10th, 2011 - 10:49 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 10 (IANS) A government school teacher was beaten up by a Class 8 student when she caught him cheating in an internal exam, Delhi Police said Thursday.
Lalita Rani, a teacher in Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Sector-16 of Rohini in north Delhi, was bashed up Wednesday during a math exam in the afternoon.
“There was a math exam between 2.30 and 5.30 p.m. during which one of the student was cheating,” Rani told reporters here.
According to fellow teachers, the furious boy attacked Rani and kicked and punched her before hitting her face with a sharp object.
Although no police complaint has been lodged, the boy has been suspended from the school, police said.
