Carla Bruni donates proceeds of latest album to charity
December 23rd, 2008 - 6:49 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Dec 23 (IANS) French first lady Carla Bruni has done her bit of philanthropy by donating all proceeds of her latest album to charity.“I’m pleased that music can be used for this,” the former supermodel was quoted as saying by vogue.co.uk.
“Comme si de rien n’etait (As If Nothing Had Happened)”, her third album, has sold 190,000 copies in France and 220,000 abroad since its release in July. Bruni drew out three cheques with a total value of 238,000 euros ($330,000) to Haitian children’s charities in Paris.
She was also recently named an ambassador for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
