Candlelight vigil against child labour
April 20th, 2011 - 9:43 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 20 (IANS) In the backdrop of the shocking case of a 10-year-old boy being beaten to death by his employer, an NGO here will hold a candlelight vigil Friday to spread awareness about child labour.
The campaign has been titled ‘No More Moin’. It will take place at the India Gate lawns.
“Moin was mercilessly beaten to death by his employer. Another child, seven years of age, who is in our custody, was also beaten and has several marks of injury all over his body and head. However the police have not yet registered an FIR,” a member of Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) said.
Moin was beaten to death April 16 by his maternal uncle who had brought him from his home in Bihar to Delhi to work here.
