Candle factory goes up in flames
January 17th, 2011 - 12:47 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 16 (IANS) Goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in a fire that broke out in a candle factory in north Delhi Sunday afternoon, police said. No casualty was reported.The incident took place around 2.30 p.m. on Sunny Bazar Road of Kirari Village in Aman Vihar area. Fire tenders were pressed into service and the flames were extinguished by 4.15 p.m.
The factory is located next to several small houses. A short circuit was suspected to be the cause of the accident.
“The entire factory is gone. Goods worth lakhs of rupees were gutted in fire,” said a police officer.
The owner of the factory, Rajbir, said nearly the whole factory was destroyed in the fire.
