Cancer victim rescued from kidnappers
October 22nd, 2011 - 9:15 pm ICT by IANSGhaziabad, Oct 22 (IANS) An abducted child, a victim of cancer, for whose release kidnappers demanded Rs.two crore as ransom, was Saturday found after an encounter by the police here in Uttar Pradesh.
The child was rescued from Dastoi village.
“The father of the child is a highly reputed businessman… The kidnappers knew his financial worth,” Inspector General of Police (Meerut) Rajeev Krishna said.
A policeman injured in the encounter is critical, he added.
The kidnappers were identified as Lalit Kumar, Kanhaiya, Raj Kumar, Shiv Ram, Pappu and Iqbal.
The child was kidnapped Oct 18.
