Call centre cabs kill two in DelhiJune 28th, 2008 - 12:03 am ICT by IANS
New Delhi, June 27 (IANS) Two people were killed Friday in two accidents in the national capital involving call centre cabs, police said. Karan Singh, 52, was killed and his son-in-law Lakhan, 24, suffered injuries when a speeding call centre cab rammed into their motorbike in Pashchim Vihar area of west Delhi Friday morning.
Singh, a resident of Mathura, had come to Delhi to help Lakhan in some construction work. Both were on their way to railway station when the accident occurred. Lakhan was said to be recovering in a city hospital.
Police said a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered and search was on to nab the cab driver.
In the second accident, call centre driver Shambu, 25, was killed after he rammed his car into a stationary Blueline bus near Malviya Nagar of south Delhi.
Police said the driver had apparently fallen asleep, and was not drunk.
