Cadets shake a leg at NDA Ball

Pune, Nov 20 (IANS) After three years of arduous training, cadets at the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA) had a chance to spend a glamorous evening - shaking a leg at the NDA Ball - at the culmination of their quest to become officers in the Indian armed forces.

One of the many activities that take place in the run up to the Passing Out Parade (PoP) Nov 29, the ball for the qualifying batch of the 121st course was held on the lavishly decorated lawns of NDA cadets’ mess Saturday, a NDA release said.

The NDA Commandant, Lt Gen Jatinder Singh, flagged-off the event, intended to enable the cadets hone their social graces as part of the mission of becoming an officer and a gentleman. It comprised a two-and-a-half hour variety programme, including the Mr. NDA and Miss NDA Queen pageant and dancing.

Akshat Sharma and Minnora were crowned Mr. and Miss NDA, respectively, while Mayank Vishnu and Pratarna Narang were the runners-up.
