Businessman’s guard arrested for opening fire

New Delhi, Nov 17 (IANS) A 42-year-old security guard of a businessman was arrested for firing in the air after an altercation over a minor accident while parking vehicles in south Delhi, police said Thursday. No one was injured in the incident.

Sachinder Kumar, an employee of Subhash Gulati, 55 was arrested Wednesday and his .32 bore revolver was seized by police.

Gulati is a businessman and owns a mall in Punjab’s Ludhiana. A resident of Defence Colony in south Delhi, he had come to attend a party in Mehrauli along with Kumar when the incident took place Wednesday night at around 11 p.m.

“In the neighbouring farm house another party was being hosted by two brothers - Pawan and Rajiv Arora. While reversing his car, one of Arora’s cousins grazed Gulatis’ Mercedes car and an altercation ensued between the drivers,” said a police official.

Soon, chaos prevailed at the site as people from both sides gathered at the spot and in the midst of the commotion, Kumar pulled out his revolver and fired four rounds in the air. Police was called and Kumar was arrested from the spot.
